Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance before you book your trip with us to cover you for unforeseen circumstances occuring before and during your trip. It is your choice and responsibility which type of insurance you choose but we suggest that it should include cover for:

  • emergency medical costs and repatriation
  • cancellation of curtailment of your trip
  • medical conditions arising before travel
  • personal belongings and baggage, personal liability

Schedule of Payment in case of Cancellation

Should you cancel your holiday the following schedule of cancellation charges based on the trip price apply:

Scheduled Walking Holidays:

  • Up – 56 days before start of trip: Your deposit will be held and may be used as credit for future travel within 2 years
  • 56 – 42 days before the start of your trip: 50%
  • 42 days or less before the start of your trip or on or after commencement of your trip, the full price is payable

Scheduled Day Tours:

  • These require to be paid in full on day of booking.
  • Cancellation policy remains the same as the 2. and 3. item as Scheduled Walking Holidays.


Tailor Made Private Tours:

  • Up to 90 days before the start – 35% of full tour price (your deposit payment)
  • 89 – 59 days before start – 75% of balance
  • 60 days or less before the start of your trip or on or after commencement of your trip, the full price is payable

In the event that WalkWildScotland should have to cancel a trip full reimbursement will be made or we will offer you an agreeable alternative to the tour booked.
